Frequently Asked Questions:

Why do you promote the planting of trees?
Global warming is a fact – and a clear threat to the quality of life as we know it today. Scientists have determined that trees are more important to slowing of global warming than previously believed. Yet, trees are being cut down at the rate of 50 square miles per day, worldwide. Countless trees – perhaps a million each day—are lost forever. In the United States and Canada, wild fire, flood and foreign tree pest infestations are destroying forest acreage and urban green space.
The gift of a memorial tree to honor and perpetuate life is a statement of hope for the recovery of the Earth.

Can I request a state, province or country in which to have the tree planted?
Yes, you can select the location in which you'd like to have trees planted. Indicate your planting preference on the order page. If the location isn't among those listed, you have the option to select "Where it's needed most" as determined by the planters.

Can I visit my tree?
Trees planted are young seedlings, rootstock and saplings. Thousands are planted unmarked in a natural setting. Experts responsible for protecting the public areas where the trees are planted is to protect the site believe it is destructive to have people walking on the plantings. We recommend that you look with pride on any replanting effort in your area, knowing your tree is making a difference for you and our animal friends.

Can I order a specific species of tree?
To ensure that each tree will flourish and to maximize the positive impact of planting on the environment, we let the experts choose the species application for each project. Only indigenous trees, which thrive in the state/province for which they are utilized, will be planted.

Who plants the trees?
Remembrance Trees supports recognized national and international reforestation organizations to facilitate tree plantings and their assigns reserve the right to order tree plantings in areas solely determined by the planters and/or land managers. Emergent plantings, soil stabilization as a result of fire, flood or pest infestation, program participation, weather and other factors will determine the planting site. These factors will supersede all other factors and conditions of planting.
